How to have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ:
First, you must understand your need for a Savior.
The Bible is very clear that we all have a huge problem called sin.
Romans 3:23 says, "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." This verse simply means that none of us is perfect and that each of us has sinned and if we will be honest we will admit it.
Then comes the price tag.
Just to admit that you are a sinner is not enough. You must also understand that God is perfectly righteous and will judge sin according to his perfect standard. The Bible says it like this: "For the wages (due compensation) of sin (falling short of God's standard of righteousness) is death (separation from God)."
In other words, the price for sin is eternal death apart from God in a place called Hell - not a good thing!
Because of sin we are all condemned and cannot make it to Heaven on our own. None of our good deeds or religious works will pay off our sin debt.
In Ephesians 2:8-9, the Bible says, “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.”
Again in Isaiah 64:6, he says “But we are all as an unclean thing, And all our righteousness are as filthy rags..." In other words, our religion and good works are not only worthless, but disgusting to God;
we are helpless to save ourselves from our sin.
But there is some really good news!
God sent help, a Savior! The rest of Romans 6:23 says, "...but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord."
Again in Romans 5:8, God says, "But God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us."
So to bring it all together, you, like the rest of the world, are a sinner who is condemned under God's just wrath.
Jesus came to earth as God in the flesh, lived a perfect life, and then voluntarily died on the cross because He loves you.
In His death, He literally paid for your sins. Three days later he rose from the grave, proving He was God and justifying (make righteous) all that trust Him.
God, in Romans 10:13, promises that "everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved."
There is nothing to lose and everything to gain!
If you trust Him as Savior, He will save you right now!
